Fine HomebuildingWhat I love the most about old houses is the history contained within its walls. Take a look at this audio slideshow of a 300 year old timber-frame Colonial originally built in Farmington, Connecticut in the early 1700's (oh, if this house could talk). It was going to be torn down but the current owner saw that the bones (constructed of white oak) were in excellent condition. He disassembled, relocated and reassembled the house. Watch the behind-the-scenes of this labour of love
here. I wonder if they have the historical records of who originally lived in the house and the subsequent owners. That would be so fascinating!
