Client Project: Kitchen Before & After

(For full blog post, please visit http://decorhappy.blogspot.ca/2013/12/client-project-kitchen-before-after.html)

Happy Monday! Did you get hit hard with snow this weekend? We sure did and all our plans were cancelled except for my Friday night annual holiday get-together at my house with my besties from university. I have known these girls for decades (yes, decades) and I love them to death.  Anyway, hope you enjoyed a relaxing weekend at home if you were snowed in as well.

Today, I’m sharing a kitchen reno that I designed from start to finish. Everything from floor plans and elevations to placing the last finishing touch.

Here is a look at the Before:

BEFORE

BEFORE

As you can see it was a tiny u-shaped eat-in kitchen and we transformed it into a galley style kitchen with a large island for prep and eating.

The client didn’t want the sink in the island or to the right of the range as the “mess” would be visible from the family room.  It was her idea to place the sink out of sight in the corner and she says the size is perfect for her needs.

My client fell in love with the pale aqua glass moroccan-esque backsplash tile. It’s a nice contrast to all the white.

All photos (except the Befores) by Stephani Buchman.

The client is thrilled with how things turned out and she says she wouldn’t change a thing. Music to my ears!

I will be back with some more details and sources. I have to run to another client. (I always say I will take the week before Christmas off and here I am meeting with a client every day this week. Help!)

Have a happy week!

  1. This is gorgeous Vanessa!! Love all of the details. We're redoing our cabinets in the new house dark right now, but I still want the perfect white kitchen (like this one) one day! Great work (as always)
