Happy Monday! Hope you enjoyed a beautiful weekend. I was at a friend’s cottage for a few days and had too much fun!
While driving back from the cottage, I read with excitement, this tweet (well, I wasn’t driving, I was stopped for lunch, promise!):
And then she tweeted this photo so I could at least see the first page. Thanks Amy! (Sorry about the crease - this one photo is spread over two pages.)
I did manage to pick up a copy (or seven!) and couldn’t wait to see the layout, words etc. I like how they included 11 lessons throughout the article. I had seen the photographs before because I had these photos shot in March and Style at Home decided to use them. (I would have styled things a bit differently had I known these were going in the magazine as is!)
My photographer did re-shoot the living room with my new hot pink ottoman as well as a couple of other images. I LOVE the side view shot of the living room shown above.
The rooms featured in the magazine are the living room, Maya’s bedroom and craft room. You have seen variations of these rooms over the years. You can sort of see the dining room in the photo above. I will do a Before and After post in the coming weeks as I have never shown the dining room on the blog before.
Thanks Style at Home for this wonderful opportunity to be featured. It really is a dream come true and I am so grateful!
“Get Organized with Style” is filled with inspiration aplenty to create an organized (and pretty) home! I find that September, the start of a new school year, is the perfect time to edit, declutter and get organized.
This special issue will be on newsstands only (not with your subscription) until March 29, 2013 so you have lots of time to pick one up (but I would buy one sooner than later in case they run out!) I’m not sure if it is available outside of Canada or on Zinio but I’ll find out.
Have a happy week!
Congratulations Vanessa! I can't wait to get a copy. From what I see though, it looks fabulous - and your styling is picture perfect :)
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I will have to pick up a copy when I return home in a week!
ReplyDeleteYay you! Looks amazing....can't wait to get my hands on a copy!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh, I can't wait to buy it and see your home!! Congrats darling!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Love the space and I'm definitely going to check out the issue.
ReplyDeleteVery cool, Vanessa :-) You're on fire this year! I'm sure this is just the start of bigger & better things for you :-) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteYAY! You have a craft room? No fair. And are those Bentwood chairs I spy in your dining room? Jealous! I am so glad you are getting the recognition you deserve. I remember the conversation we had in the car when you drove us to the airport....how you felt like not continuing on in design or was not sure....and now you are a rock star! Hugs and congrats.
ReplyDeleteRock star? You are too cute Barbara!
DeleteIt's Maya's craft/playroom - not mine! :) Yes, bentwood chairs - love them! I think what I meant was I LOVE design but sometimes clients and the demands can be a bit exhausting and that I love the blogging side but can't really make money from it unfortunately. I'm just taking my time now to ensure clients are a good fit(appreciate and value what I do) and turning down clients that aren't.
Congrats! I"ll have to look out for the magazine. Love what I see so far.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the BIG spread in the magazine. Your house looks great. Continued success, Vanessa!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Vanessa! I'm so excited for you!!!

ReplyDeleteIt's great to finally see it in print. I'm glad we got to reshoot the room with the pink ottoman, it really makes a bold statement.
WellI hope you are sipping some bubbly too! I know one of your goals was to be published in a shelter mag and here you are! I just updated the post with the info on reshooting - had completely forgot about that. And linked to you as well! Thanks Kelly! Style at Home thought your photos were magazine worthy first time around so that speaks volumes about your photography! Cheers!
