Christmas Inspiration: Red + Green

Christmas decor has veered away from the traditional red and green over the past few years.  Turquoise and purple have  become favoured colours.  There’s nothing like  a fresh take on classic red and green as in this home decorated for the holidays by a Boston interior designer.

Winterberries and a few accessories make an eye-catching table display.

Even a window seat is dressed for the holidays.

Who says you have to put away your coastal decor like these porcelain sea urchins at Christmas?

Home baked cookies as party favours are always a great idea.

Love the idea of menu cards at each place setting.  Doesn’t have to be printed, handwritten will do.

Touches of red in a neutral bedroom signify Christmas.  (The placement of the present seems a little contrived though.)

This is eye-catching!  Architectural paper lanterns with votives.  Probably best to use battery-operated “candles” rather than the real deal to avoid any mishaps!

  1. Beautiful pics! and yes, haha, the placement of that doggie with a bow is a bit contrived. Hilariously so.

  2. I LOVE TRADITIONAL REd and green. It's all the excess and over the top uses of it that make it tacky. Lovley pictures.

  3. Beautiful! Love the votives on the stairs, and agreed, battery-operated candles would be best! And really like the idea of filling the top of the planter with ornaments.

Guilty of a purple & turquoise Christmas here! Although that's been my colour scheme for quite a few years - the trend has finally caught up with me! ;-)
