Patio Lanterns

I’m dreaming of the day (30+ years from now) when I will have tall, leafy, shady trees like this in my backyard. This one belongs to designer Andrew Pike and was featured in the March 2009 Canadian House and Home.

I love the horizontal slats of the wood fence, the graphic cushions on the built-in benches and the gorgeous lantern. Notice the large sink and faucet in the background – so convenient.

  1. Believe it or not, I found the greatest lanterns for my patio and they were so inexpensive, but they really do give Summer dinners such ambiance.
    I put candles in them.

  4. Hi Vanessa :-)

I remember that Kim Mitchell song! Does that mean I'm an old lady?! Ha! I'm a big fan of horizontal slats in fences... we're putting a fence up on the side of our front yard (to hide a horrible hedge that belongs to our neighbour) and I've told Brian that it HAS to have horizontal slats. Such a clean look! And I laughed at your comment about your young back-yard trees... we planted a Japanese maple in our front yard last fall and I can't wait for it to be big and even more beautiful!!

I hope you drop by DesignTies soon... we're having a giveaway that honours and supports a very important cause ~ raising funds for cancer research. We'd love for you to help us spread the word about the campaign and our giveaway!!

    All the best,
    Victoria
